Agency Management

Buildprint introduces two distinct levels of membership and roles: App Collaboration and Agency Membership. Understanding the difference is key to managing access and permissions effectively.

App Collaborators

App collaborators are users who have been granted access to a specific application within Buildprint. This is managed on a per-app basis.

There are two roles for app collaborators:

  • Collaborator: Can view and interact with the app's documentation and features.
  • Admin: Has full control over the app, including managing app settings, inviting/removing collaborators, and regenerating the join code.

A user becomes an app collaborator when:

  • They are invited to an app by an existing app admin.
  • They join an app using a valid join code provided by an app admin.

A user can be a collaborator on multiple apps, each with a potentially different role.

Agency Members

Agency members are users who are part of a specific agency in Buildprint. This is managed at the agency level.

There are two primary roles for agency members:

  • Member: A standard member of the agency.
  • Admin: An administrator of the agency with elevated privileges.

A user becomes an agency member when:

  • They create a new agency.
  • They are invited to an agency by an existing agency admin.
  • They accept an invitation to join an agency.

A user can only be a member of one agency at a time.

The Role of Agency Admins

Agency Admins have significant control within their agency. Their responsibilities and permissions typically include:

  • Managing agency details and settings.
  • Inviting and removing members from the agency.
  • Managing the roles of other agency members (promoting to admin or demoting to member).
  • Having administrative oversight of apps associated with their agency (details on specific permissions for agency admins over agency-owned apps can be found in the Apps section).

It's important to note that while an Agency Admin has broad permissions within their agency, their permissions on a specific app are determined by their role as an App Collaborator for that app. An Agency Admin might be an Admin on some agency-owned apps and a Collaborator on others, or even have no direct access to certain apps if they haven't been added as a collaborator.
